Explore Willingham Woods
(Average user rating: 4 unrated 3.7/5)

Willingham Woods is part of a large complex of pinewoods that are located east of Market Rasen. This central section provides a range of recreational opportunities as well as an important source of timber.

There is a large car park and picnic site with a café and toilets in the adjacent layby owned and run by Lincolnshire County Council.

The wood is busy all year round but is especially during the summer months when holidaymakers use it as a break point when heading to and from the coast.

If you wish to organise an event in this wood then please check out this web page for how to do it.

Red Trail
  • Easy
The Red Trail goes past Willingham ponds once part of Willingham Hall and through pleasant mixed woodlands.

What do other visitors say?

We came on our bikes but could not find any marked out cycle routes. We ended up on the Lindsey route. We had a great ride but not what I was looking for or what we had seen online.

Hi, I am glad they enjoyed the Lindsay Trail. There are not any marked cycle routes in Willigham Woods. And our website doesn’t advertise any. You are welcome to ride their bikes in Willingham Woods but please stay on the stone paths.

Forestry Commission Response

Wanting to come round the woods and bring our bikes for a family ride. How much is parking for the day?

Hi Laura, parking is free in our car park at Willingham Woods. Have a great day out.

Forestry Commission Response

Are you allowed to ride mountain bikes in the woods

David, 4/Jan/2018

Hello David, Yes you can ride in Willingham Wood but stick to the stoned tracks and designated area that are marked for cycling. Thanks and enjoy your ride.
