The Roll of Honour Sculpture at New Fancy.  In memory of all those who lost their lives in the coal pits, iron mines and quarries of the Forest of Dean

If you fancy getting away from the crowds, why not try visiting one of the Forestry Commission's smaller picnic or car park sites in the Forest of Dean.

For wildlife enthusiasts

A trip to Nagshead Nature Reserve or New Fancy will give good bird viewing opportunities.  Tidenham Chase is a heathland restoration project situated just outside of the main Forest of Dean woodlands.

For walkers

Soudley Ponds is a tranquil spot in the forest, showcasing a stand of mature douglas fir trees.  Speech House Woodland provides access to the Sculpture Trail and Woorgreens Nature Reserve.

The Cyril Hart Arboretum

Has a collection of four hundred trees and provides a flat surfaced path suitable for wheelchairs.
