A Date With Nature in the New ForestGOSHAWK

Now open 7 days a week until the end of August!

A Date with Nature is a collaboration between the RSPB, the New Forest National Park Authority, the Forestry Commission and Carnyx Wild, at the Reptile Centre.

The nestcam display, part of the RSPB's Date with Nature programme, has run daily from the beginning of April to the end of August, 10 am to 4.30 pm, since 2006.

The nestcam is no longer live - two chicks successfully fledged in June and are now looking after themselves...

The goshawk highlights from previous years can be viewed at the Reptile Centre, as well as plenty of other interactive information about New Forest birds and wildlife, including a live feedercam featuring woodpeckers and nuthatches.

Date with Nature in the New Forest is now open and will be manned 7 days a week, at the New Forest Reptile Centre - ask staff and volunteers on site about wildlife in the New Forest.

Other live images can be viewed at: www.carnyx.tv/Home.aspx

I've been watching the Goshawk family for a few weeks now on the brilliant Carnyx TV. I'm not able to get to the forest sadly. I look in most days to see how the three chicks are faring. They have been so healthy, well looked after by both parents. Today I looked in and could see only TWO chicks being fed. Do you know what happened to the third chick? I'm sure that he was there yesterday.

Thank you for the wonderful coverage by Carnyx.
