Parking is astronomical it should be charged on time spent there. We spent an hour walking and half hour in cafe. It cost 11.00 . Won't be doing that again

Thank you for visiting Bedgebury and for your feedback. At Bedgebury we have vehicle admission rather than per person, which we believe represents value for money with everything there is to enjoy in the forest and pinetum. All income from admission is invested back in to the pinetum and forest for future enjoyment. It also supports the conifer conservation work going on at Bedgebury. Our Friends of Bedgebury annual membership offer is great value for anyone visiting for shorter stays returning regularly. Otherwise, if you visit between 8am - 11am the vehicle admission fee is £3 per car. We hope that you enjoyed your visit and are able to return.

We had a great day out, went to Go Ape then hired bikes for the 6 mile family cycle route. Only downside was having to pay 12 for car parking as it was an expensive day when paying for activities too.

Parking is as astronomically expensive, especially for a short visit. The food in the cafe needs improvement, but otherwise a good day out and nice trails for a family cycle ride.

Great place for mountain biking and the facilities are really nice. Only massive downside...and its massive...is the price for parking. Compared to other places which have similar or better mountain bike trails (i.e Swinley Forest) the parking is very expensive. For that reason my friends and I don't come often as we use too. Reduce your parking fees!!

I agree about the toilets. There should be more of them scattered around all the ground. Other than that I would have given five stars. We had a lovely day out and decided to join as well. It makes more sense to us if we are coming more often to pay for the whole year. Lovely place for great walks of varying degrees. The cafe is good and we enjoyed our lunch.

Booked the go ape for my kids which wasn't cheap to start with then hit with a 12 pound parking charge!!!! I could understand 5 pounds but 12 is just being so greedy, had a great day but still smarting over the far too high parking charge!!

Please see our previous comments regarding how your fees are invested back into the facilities, forest and Pinetum at Bedgebury to make every visit a good one. We hope you enjoyed your day .

Lovely place to visit, myself and my 2 children had a fantastic day, however I was disappointed that there weren't more toilets?? Not great when u have young ones !! Also very disappointed that you charge more for parking during school holidays!! I don't think it's right that families with children should be penalised!! Other than those points it was a great place to visit.

A number of times I have thought about coming back here but the parking is way to high for a one of visit and no discount for disabled. It's a shame as if parking was lower I would visit more and you would make more money as I'm sure more people would visit

Rachel, 22/Apr/2017

Thank you for your feedback. All proceeds from vehicle admission fees are invested back in to the Pinetum and forest at Bedgebury. Regular visitors can also benefit from membership which represents great value throughout the year, also with proceeds being reinvested into the site.

Greedy parking prices.. Bewl reservoir is 2 a day.... This is half the reason so many younger cyclists won't visit Bedgebury.. It's a shame...

We visited Bedgebury on Monday and were very impressed with the brilliant planning that has gone in to the forests and the wonderful play areas scattered all around. Our only disappointment was at the number of dogs off the lead and running all round the play areas. I noticed on entering a small sign saying dogs should be on leads but this does not seem to be enforced. We had small children with us and one dog jumped up at the pushchair several times. I am a dog lover but with the huge increase of dog attacks ( as being discussed on the BBC today') I don't want my children hassled by strange dogs when they are playing in an area. Perhaps larger signs saying dogs must be kept on leads are needed and the forest wardens politely telling people when they don't comply, so that everyone can safely enjoy the forest and all it's wonderful features together.

Maureen, 7/Apr/2017

Our staff will remind dog owners to respect other visitors where they see there is a problem, as we want everyone visiting Bedgebury to have an enjoyable and safe time with us. We also constantly review our signage, so thank you for your feedback regarding your visit, and we hope to see you again soon.

Lovely place to visit, something for everyone. My children loved the play areas and gruffalo trail. My husband liked the cycling trails. Only 2 things I would like to see improve. There is only one toilet facility (near the cafe) which is quite far from the play areas, not good when you have small children that when they need to go they need to go straight away!! The 2nd thing is there aren't enough maps of the whole place and you can get easily lost and cannot see what would be the best route to take. It would be nice to have a better map provided at visitors centre or even better bigger map boards around the different trails.

Non of this however spoilt our day :-)

Only thing that I find is parking is a bit steep as only there for two hours and cost 12 pound witch is why I tend to only come to bedgbury once a month as use to come once a week but paying 48 pound to ride for 6 hours lol

Thanks for your feedback, it's great to hear that you like visiting regularly. Have you thought about membership of the Friends of Bedgebury or Bedgebury Forest Cycle Club? They both represent great value for regular visitors and proceeds from fees are invested back in to the site too. Find out more at https://www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/infd-8ygfwc

Beautiful pinetum and park; there's so much to do, it's easy to lose track of time and for the whole family to spend hours there. We agree with others' comments, Bedgebury needs toilet facilities near Go Ape and the main pirate ship play area. We are surprised that one wasn't built years ago - and still hasn't been by 2017!

Please can you tell me whether dogs are allowed in the covered eating area between the visitor centre and the cafe? Thankyou.

pat smith, 4/Feb/2017

thanks for your enquiry.Only assistance dogs are permitted in the Café and visitor Centre buildings, including the undercover atrium area. We do have a partially covered area to the side of the Café where you can sit with your dog.

Always a pleasure walking around anytime of the year. A treasure to the south to explore.

Only downside is there is only one toilet facility in the main area. Would be easier for a toilet block close to the play areas and Go Ape.

Not a major problem though!

Although we have lived within 20 miles for 40 years this was our first visit. The Pinetum is simply magnificent as are the other features. The grandchildren loved the playground and had plenty of adventures amongst the trees.

We only found out about Bedgebury through a friend - what a place! Beautifully kept landscape and the facilities are amazing. Great for families and it never feels really crowded.

Highly recommended.

Visited today with my 2 grandchildren and we had a fantastic day! The sun was out & lots of people, but I was amazed at how peaceful it was! Would recommend for a lovely, chilled day out and I defy any child not to enjoy themselves!

My mum and I took my two year old twins on the play trail today - it was awesome! They had the best time and it was lovely for me to let them out of the buggy to walk without worrying about not being able to see them/getting lost in busy crowds. We absolutely will be returning - I think we only saw a fraction of what there is to see. Well worth the 10.

I have been visiting the forest for a while and always enjoyed the facilities, i had been putoff by the rather steep price for parking until a friend mentioned becoming a member, the price to become a member is not cheap but so worth it. I do feel you need to advertise the membership more as i knew nothing about it.

I use bedgebury to ride the blue route with my partner, red routes on my own and the play areas for my neices, it has everything you need and if you're local just become a "friend" member, it's worth it :)

I don't think I have been so sad after a visit to a country park with a theme.

Four grandchildren under 4 were trying to follow the stick man with his problems,( where was the magic of Julia Donaldson? I will let her know. You have let her down.) only to find posts with character faces on. The family tree looked like two dead bushes which the children did not want to put their stick men on.

10 each for 4 cars for a birthday picnic plus stickman Mcdonald like leaflets for 3 for each child is not value for money.

Go to your local woods with your own imagination and you will have more fun without expectation.

jackie, 14/Mar/2016

Thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback. We're sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy the Stick Man Trail but hope to see you again as we also like to encourage children to enjoy the natural beauty of the forest and let their imagination run wild.

Another excellent ride out on the bikes today, but again only one shower working which is some what frustrating(it's been like this all year). In the main the whole off Bedgebury is great but please be fair with the new paking charges from April 2016 going to 12 for a Saturday or Sunday visit (we stay for 3 hours max bring 2 vehicles and eat a lot in the cafe!!, becoming not cost effective for our morning ride out, may look to go else where) please consider half day parking as you would gain more in the long run. Thanks for a wonderful morning on the trails.

As a regular walker around the pinetum and one who enjoys the occasional coffee, it is very disappointing that there is now no covered space to sit at the visitor's centre. Bearing in mind the location of the caf, within an outdoor recreational area, it is also inconvenient in that dogs are not allowed in the caf, which deters it's use. This morning I tied the dogs outside and went inside to get a coffee. Having stood at the counter for more than five minutes, firstly while no-one came to serve and then while one customer was served extremely slowly, I finally gave up and left. Others in the queue were similarly frustrate. I dread to think of the wait for service during a busy day!

Please take this a constructive criticism.
