Your comments on Thames Chase Forest Centre & Broadfields

Hello! Is there the possiblity of BBQs on this site? We were thinking of holding a 40th picnic party in your forest: is that a also a possibility? We used to use High Lodge in Thetford for such occasions, but have since moved south! Thanks for your help!

An excellent family day out. Our 2 year old loved the sticks, puddles and playgrounds. Baby loved the sights and sounds, doggy adored running around. Mum and dad devoured the delicious cake served by friendly staff. The day ended perfectly listening to Brentwood school big band in the sunshine. A fantastic day out for all.

We had a lovely first visit today and really enjoyed the Stick Man trail. Our 4 year old especially loved the various play areas involving climbing. We will definitely visit again. The visitor centre and cafe are very nice but it would be good if it were possible to pay by card rather than cash only in the cafe (the shop in the visitor centre takes cards fortunately).

Hi Charlotte. Thankyou for your feedback - we are pleased you enjoyed the Stickman Trail and our play areas. I believe the cafe are planning on taking card payments in the near future. Scott - Community Ranger

have been a regular with my children for many years and have normally taken my own snacks for us. Cafe is clearly run by new people who actually smile and make us all so welcome. And Sharon the life and soul of the cafe will not let anybody leave without a smile. Clearly all the staff enjoy working there and give the centre the atmosphere it has lacked for many years.

Thanks Paul - I will pass on your message to Sharon and the rest of the cafe team. I think its about time for a slice of cake! Scott - Community Ranger

We had a great day walking the stick man trail today with a very happy 2 year old splashing in lots of lovely puddles whilst looking for stick man characters. I loved your stick man packs too.

I have the Thames Chase walk leaflets 1,2,3,5, 6a and 6b. Please can you advise me if there is a Thames Chase walk leaflet 4. If so how I can obtain it. I have searched on the web and at the Forest Centre but no luck.

Angela, 1/May/2015

Hi Angela, I have emailed you and the Thames Chase Trust, who developed the walk leaflets. They should be able to help you. Kind regards, Community Ranger

Is the visitor centre open on 1st January?

A Question, 15/Dec/2014

The Forest Centre is open every day including New Years Day from 10am - 4pm, except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The car park will be open every day over Christmas, so everyone can still visit for a post-turkey walk around the woodland!
