From furniture to firewood, sawn timber to toys and pretty much everything in between, the Wood Market is a great place for shoppers to buy a unique gift.
Iain Laidlaw, Forestry Commission Scotland said:

“We are always very happy to help out with this big local event. It is very much a partnership event with a huge number of participants making it such a success.

“We are particularly keen to promote local wood products which help to support the sustainable management of our beautiful woodlands and forests.
“The Wood Market is a ‘tree-mendous’ opportunity to buy some of our best home grown wooden products. The whole weekend is a superb event for the family too as there are so many activities on the go.”

Within the large hall at Peebles Community Centre there will beautiful furniture, bowls and boxes, clocks and chopping boards, rocking horses, toys, carvings, mirrors, candle holders and lots of other wooden gifts.

Outdoors, nearby on the Tweed Green there will be more wood goods for sale and visitors will see chainsaw artists carving animals a mobile sawmill in action.

Those attending the market can try their hand at bodging, making wooden spoons, bat boxes or even a traditional witch’s broom for Halloweeen.

There’s also children's activities and entertainment including the magical woodland puppets, wooden animal making and competitions.

The Scottish Conker Championships are also held on the Saturday and Peebles Food Festival on Saturday and Sunday. Both events run alongside the outdoor section of the wood market on Tweed Green.
