OPM Advisory Group

The OPM Advisory Group was set up in 2012 in response to the continued spread of OPM in London. The group is made up of a wide range of stakeholders, in recognition that tackling the pest will only be possible if collaborative action is taken.

2013 OPM Programme

The group developed an OPM 2013 Control Plan that sets out the range of actions needed to implement an effective control programme, and was updated in Spring 2013 in light of new Defra funding of £2M towards a pilot enhanced control programme.

The enhanced programme included direct implementation of a landscape scale spraying programme for all known infested sites as well as increased survey, research and communications effort. After collating data, reviewing the actions and achievements and holding a ‘lessons learned’ workshop with stakeholders, a summary report was produced.
