Solutions for Wood Mobilisation in Europe is the final conference of the SIMWOOD project.

The project aims to increase the mobilisation of wood from forests and woodlands in Europe.

Members of the project will present the findings from region-based research, action and partnership working with forest owners and practitioners.

Highilights will include:

  • Lessons learned from the SIMWOOD pilot projects and Regional Learning Labs
  • Experiences shared by small and medium sized businesses
  • Demonstration of tools and products to support wood mobilsation
  • Panel discussions with forest practitioners, policy makers and researchers

Forest Research's Bianca Ambrose-Oji, David Edwards and Gary Kerr will speak at the conference explaining:

  • Past wood mobilisation initiatives in Europe
  • Added valued from the pilot projects implemented in different regions
  • The role of local governance as a first step towards wood mobilisation
