Our Climate Ready Future

The theme of ECCA 2017 is ‘Our Climate Ready Future’. Our vision is that this conference will inspire and enable people to work together to discover and deliver positive climate adaptation solutions that can strengthen society, revitalise local economies and enhance the environment. It will bring together people who will deliver action on the ground – from business, industry, NGOs, local government and communities – to share knowledge, ideas and experience with leading researchers and policymakers.

Forest Research participants include Michal Petr  who will present on ‘How resilient are forest management plans under climate and societal change?, Kate Beauchamp who will speak on the “Increasing Resilience in Scotland’s Forest Sector: Demonstrating Adaptation at Queen Elizabeth Forest Park” and Gail Atkinson who will make a poster presentation about “Integrating Adaptation Considerations into the Forest Planning Process: Experience and Lessons Learnt in the New Forest”.  On Friday 9th June, Bruce Nicoll  will assist in an excursion to explore ‘climate ready forestry’ at Queen Elizabeth Forest Park near Aberfoyle.  The progamme is available on the conference website.
