April joined the pathology lab at Forest Research in September 2013 after completing a degree in Biological sciences with honours in plant science at the University of Edinburgh. She went on to work in the pathology lab at SRUC Edinburgh looking at the agricultural pathogen Ramularia collo-cygni.

Assisting with Forest Pathology research and advisory work, and the general running of the NRS Pathology laboratory.

  • Phytophthora austrocedrae
    Undertake morphological and genetic characteristics of global isolates.
  • Chalara fraxinea
    Developing an assay for quantifying inoculum in spore traps
