Gruffalo trail dates and information
The trail is open now, until the end of 2017. It is aimed at younger children, but the whole family can enjoy following clues and collecting evidence. Download the app before you visit and point it at the markers to bring the characters to life!
You can find the start of the trail at the Visitor Centre and it is about 1 mile in length. The route is easy-access, but there are some inclines along the way.
Set out on your Gruffalo Spotting adventure with the Gruffalo Activity Kit! The kit contains an evidence collection bag, 5 fact and activity cards, Gruffalo character stickers, a special magnifying glass, ruler and a pencil! Buy your activity pack from the Information Office in the Visitor Centre for just £3.
The trail and the app are free of charge, but we ask that visitors pay for vehicle admission in the forest. You'll find space in the main visitor car park. For up to date vehicle admission fees please see 'planning your visit'.
Due to the fantastic response, the Gruffalo Spotters trail can be very busy at weekends and in school holidays. We occasionally have to close our car park for short spells on very busy days until spaces become available, and as we don’t want you to be disappointed if you’ve travelled especially to spot the Gruffalo, it might be worth you planning your visit for a quieter day if possible, or calling the Information Office on 01580 879820 if in doubt before your visit. You can also check our Facebook and Twitter page for updates too.
We do not have wifi at Bedgebury, so please make sure you Download the Gruffalo Spotter app at home before you visit!
