Highway Rat

Highway Rat Activity Trail at Haldon Forest

* Due to Forest Operations the Highway Rat Activity trail will be CLOSED Monday-Fridays from Monday 3rd September for the next few weeks. We apologise for any dissapointment caused. *

The Highway Rat is the latest Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler book to be brought to life on our forest trails. Follow the panels, complete activities and interact with the forest as you head on a journey with The Highway Rat and all the characters from the story!

Activity KitHighway Rat information

It is aimed at younger children, but the whole family can enjoy completing activities and spotting characters. You can find the trail at the start of the discovery trail and it is about 1.5 miles in length.

 

Activity KitActivity Kit

Join the Highway Rat on his journey through the forest with the Highway Rat Activity Pack! The kit contains an activity leaflet plus an extra activity sheet, a Highway Rat mask, stickers of the Highway Rat characters, a pencil and a crayon. Buy your activity pack from the rangers office for just £3.

Parking

We ask that visitors pay to park in the forest. You'll find space in Haldon Main Car Park. Charges apply: Peak (Weekends/School Hols/Bank Hols) All Day £7, 4 hrs £5, 2 hrs £4. Off-Peak (Mon-Fri Term Time) All Day £5, 4 hrs £4, 2 hrs £3.
