Find out about me, my owner and my favourite place for a walk in Alice Holt Forest, as well as great dog friendly places to eat and sleep near by.

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. My owner and me

I’m a lively, two-year-old Springer Spaniel, who is looked after by Helen, a learning manager. I have a very long feathery tail and I’ve got a screw in my left foreleg, where a bone in my elbow didn't grow properly when I was a puppy.

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. Favourite treat

Bonios and Bakers Allsorts, but I like to eat anything. I once ate a whole ice cream tubful of beef stew. It was lovely but my owners were cross when they found me with the empty tub! I like to finish up Bilbo’s (the cat) food, too.

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. Best trick

I can do a high five when Helen asks me to!

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. Arch rival

Bilbo, the cat. When I first went to my new home and saw Bilbo I barked at him and he hissed back. Mostly I avoid him, but we’re ok in the same room, unless I startle him and he tries to get me with his sharp claws, which really hurts!

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. Favourite places for a walk

I really like going along the Lodge Pond Trail. There are lots of exciting smells and I really enjoy running along and stopping for a sniff from time to time. There's also a fun easy access trail, which is good for owners who need a firmer surface to walk on.

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. Water stops

The cafe always has water in a dog bowl so we dogs can have a drink after a good walk, and there’s a ring there to tie a lead to while our owners go inside. I am allowed to sit by the tables outside that way I can watch everything that’s going on.

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. Other useful information

There are dog waste bins around the car parks, but 'stick and flick' is used in the wider forest. The café has very nice food, hot drinks and ice creams I’m told, but I’m not allowed any. When we are near the visitor centre us dogs need to be kept on a lead, so we don’t run off and get into mischief! There's also a rail to tie us to near the toilets. Visit Alice Holt for more information about what's available.
