Learning volunteers
Support staff in delivering family events and curriculum based learning programmes to thousands of families and school children each year.
Welcome Desk
Provides first-class visitor care in helping thousands of people each year with enquiries, membership and ways to enjoy the arboretum to the full.
Special Events volunteers
Help Westonbirt to deliver its signature events including concerts, Treefest and Enchanted Christmas.
Fundraisers
Help the Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum Charity in raising vital funding to support the National Arboretum.
Guides
Supported by a volunteer assistant, lead walks around the arboretum in all its wonderful seasons, telling visitors about the heritage and conservation of our renowned tree collection.
External speakers
Spread the word about the wonders of Westonbirt to groups and organisations.
Community coppice volunteer
Supporting different community groups including drug/alcohol rehabilitation, young people and the over 50s, to connect with Westonbirt through woodland management tasks, and activities such as photography and creative writing.
Community Inclusion volunteer
Helping to deliver 'Westonbirt on the Move' a multi-sensory outreach programme for vulnerable and older adults in local care homes and day centres; and engaging with vulnerable adults through a range of arboretum based activities to improve health and wellbeing.
Community Youth volunteer
Enabling young people to engage with the arboretum through a variety of different elements including the arboretum's very own Youth Forum - Team WB, practical conservation and Wild Westonbirt.
