Planning Your Learning Visit

To help your visit to the forest go smoothly and to help you with your planning stage, example risk assessments, site safety information and suggested learning objectives are available.

Whenever possible on all booked visits a ranger will meet and welcome your group. This is a chance to meet a new face and someone who works for the Forestry Commission.

For both led and self-led options a pre-visit is always recommended to ensure you know where you can go, what you will be doing and what resources are available.

On the day you can park in the designated coach parking bay large enough for up to three coaches. When you book a visit with our Learning Team you will receive a complimenatry coach parking permit for the day.

A short walk from the car park you will find the toilets, cafe, play areas and the start of the walking trails. We have plenty of picnic benches in the forest but if you want and indoor space the why not hire the use of our Forest Classroom?

We hope your visit to Sherwood Pines is safe and enjoyable. Have a look at our Health and Safety Guidance for some tips and advice.

To really get the most out of your trip why not book onto one of our 'Making the Most of Outdoor Learning' training days?
