Learning in your forest - Yorkshire

Yorkshire District covers an area from Middlesbrough in the north to Kingston-upon-Hull in the southeast and Bradford in the southwest. The main forests in the area are Dalby and Guisborough. There are also several other smaller woodlands throughout the district.

  • Equipment and resources available to hire for self-led group visits including orienteering, Stream Studies and Shelter Building at Dalby Forest, North York Moors National Park

  •  We run a programme of events for family adults and children.  Family Learning packs available to buy at Dalby Forest

  • Dalby Activity Centre will now be running Ranger led environmental education sessions within Dalby Forest. See for more info.

  • Acorn Antics will be operating from Guisborough Forest giving people opportunities to explore, discover and create with nature.  They will be running a regular events programme, school and group visits, forest school programmes and birthday parties.  Click here for more information.

If you are a forest schools practitioner or are interested in running education activities in the forest we may be able to offer designated areas of woodland that can be used for Forest School or other activities.  Please contact us for more information.
