Events at Whinlatter

Whinlatter has a programme of events throughout the year from family events run by the ranger team to large scale sporting events including adventure races, trail runs and car rallies.

Visiting the forest through the year gives you a host of different sights and sounds, from the changing colours of the trees, to the different wildlife you can see.

Gruffalo Spotters' Trail

From 22 February, follow clues and collect evidence as you search for the Gruffalo along the Gruffalo Spotters trail! Bring the characters to life before your eyes with The Gruffalo Spotter free app, or gather clues with an Evidence Kit. Find more details on the Whinlatter trail page.

There are more activities you can get involved with, organised by different businesses in and around the forest sites.

If you'd like to try your hand at some bushcraft skills, take a look at the Keswick Canoe and Bushcraft website for booking and information.

Trek Tipi offers a whole different way to experience the woodland at Dodd, by combining walking with tipi camping in a stunning location.

Nic's Nordic Walks provides a fantastic way to improve our fitness on our forest trails, maximising the health benefits of getting outdoors.
