Fascinating visit to this ancient warreners lodge. History brought alive by the outstanding guide from the friends of Thetford Forest.

Sarah Francis, 27/May/2018

We are glad you enjoyed finding out more about the Warren Lodge. The Friends of Thetford Forest are a fantastic volunteer group who support the Forestry Commission and the Public Forest Estate. If you would like to find out more about what they do visit their web page.

Had a very nice quiet walk around the site, a bit cold and windy. Lots of wildlife, many squirrels and what looked like a Muntjac trying to stare me down.

Andrew Leader, 30/Nov/2017

Muntjac are very bold around Thetford Forest. We are glad you enjoyed your walk and hope you wrapped up warm as Thetford Forest can be one of the coldest places in England. Santon Downham (located in Thetford Forest) is often mentioned on the weather reports as there is a weather station based in the Forestry Commission yard.

Appalling access for disabled,a half mile treck over uneven ground.

J copp, 25/Oct/2016

Mildenhall is a working forest and doesn't promote itself as having disabled access. Lynford Arboretum may have trails that are more suitable.
