Cycling and mountain biking

Looking for a gentle family cycle ride in a beautiful woodland setting, a fun and safe place to learn to ride your bike, or some high-speed mountain biking? Bedgebury's is the perfect place!

Our cycle trails offer something for everyone, from beginners and families looking for a fun day out, to adrenalin junkies looking for a challenge.

Award winning Quench Cycles runs the cycle shop at Bedgebury and their business is bulit around a passion for everything cycling. 

They can help families, groups and indiviuals explore the forest by supplying a range of mountain bikes and adapted cycles, bike sales, repairs, clothing and accessories. They also offer coaching sessions for all ages and abilities, guided rides, childrens parties and much more.

Bedgebury Forest Cycle Club

Bedgebury Forest Cycling Club logoLocal MTB enthusiasts set up the Bedgebury Forest Cycle Club in 2006 in order to accommodate the views and ideas of regular visitors and to ensure the successful evolution of the cycle trails.

MTB trail BedgeburyThe club has a growing membership of all ages and abilities, so whether you are a serious mountain biker, just starting out, or you like to take it easy they offer something for everyone.


Membership benefits include an annual vehicle admission pass, free showers and bike-wash, as well as discounts in the Bedgebury bike shop run by Quench Cycles and the Bedgebury Cafe.

Bedgebury MTB trailThere are also regular activities which include ladies rides, night-rides, a junior club, coaching sessions, and social events. It also has a monthly meeting at the Bedgebury’s Visitor Centre which any member wishing to get involved is very welcome to join.

The club is affiliated to British Cycling, ensuring that Bedgebury will be able to host BC approved events.

Membership and vehicle admission fees paid to Bedgebury Forest Cycle Club go exclusively into trail development and maintenance, so by becoming a member and paying the annual unlimited vehicle admission fee to the club you will be contributing to a better trail centre.

Working with the Forestry Commission, the bike club also plays a major part in Bedgebury's MTB trail development, with members assisting with trail maintenance, waymarking, extension and re-routing of the singletrack. The volunteer group meets on the second saturday of every month and new members are always welcome!

Just ask for a Cycle Happy Activity Sheet from the Visitor Centre or from Quench Cycles. There are three different sheets, one for your mind, one for your body, one for your soul, and they are FREE!
