Self-led school visits

We encourage groups to visit Delamere throughout the year but in order to ensure your visit goes to plan it is important you make us aware of your visit.

Want to bring your group to the forest but not sure what to do or have time to prepare activities? Our self-led pack  is available from Forest Explorers at a cost of £15 for 5 sets. Collecting bags, paper and crayons are included in this fun pack suitable for Early Years through to Key Stage 2.  Please contact Helena on :07808506308 or Email: if you would like to know more about this popular activity.

We also welcome schools, colleges and universities to visit the forest and carry out their own self-led studies.

Self-led parties must complete a permissions form and notify us of their visit. The permission application form is available from or call  03000675511 . We can then make you aware of anything else going on in the forest on the day which may affect your visit and we can contact you in case of emergency.

We have a permanent orienteering trail at Delamere suitable for Key Stage 3 and above. Please contact Claire Darlington if you would like to attend the orienteering course. Maps are available from TRACS at a cost of £1.50.

We advise your purchase a map of the forest if you are carrying out a self-led session. The map shows all the way-marked trails and cycle routes. You can purchase a map from Delamere Bike shop,Delamere Cafe, Delamere outdoor fitness and our Linmere office  at a cost of £2.
