Horse Riding

Sherwood Pines Forest Park is the largest area of woodland open to the public in the East Midlands and provides some fantastic riding opportunities.

Riding in Sherwood Pines Forest Horse riders at Blakemere, DelamerePark is by permit only and costs £40 per year. The permit allows you to ride in a variety of woodlands across Sherwood and also includes our Discovery Pass.  The only restrictions are that we ask you to keep off the forest walks and mountain bike trails. Please also observe all operational signage and diversion.

Parking is available in the outer main car parks where it is easier to unload and mount up. If these are closed during quiter times please use a corner of the main car park. Maps and advise on riding can be obtained by contacting the Forest Park team. on request

We host events throughout the year so please call or email before boxing up to check when it is best to ride

Other woodlands included in the permit are:

Facilities at Blidworth and Haywood Oaks include a horse trail and lockable parking area. Keys for this corral can be obtained on request from the South Beat Recreation Ranger.

The revenue from the permit goes back into improving our equestrian facilities and services in the above woodlands.
