Local Groups

Friends of Groups

Local residents meet regularly to discuss the progress and future developments of their local woodlands. In adopting an area they are helping to sustain the future of their local area with added benefits such as applying for funding to provide extra facilities and services.

Quite often, such members develop into our eyes and ears for the woodland.

Friends of Dalby Forest

The Friends of Dalby Forest aim to increase knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of Dalby and the surrounding forests, as well as encourage the involvement of the local community. The committee are there to represent Members and to provide the best facilities possible for all who use the Forest.

Wombwell Wood Society

A group of local people with interests in Wombwell Wood, meet regularly to support the Forestry Commission in developing the woodland for local benefit.

Friends of Hagg Wood

The Friends of Hagg Wood in Dunnington are an active group of volunteers, meeting regularly to undertake practical tasks in the wood.  They organise many social events and guided walks and talks.

Friends of Guisborough Forest and Walkway

The Friends of Guisborough Forest and Walkway raises money for improvements to the site and are always on the look out for willing hands to help with a range of fundraising activities.
