Came into the cafe yesterday and paid 5 for two lattes.. chose not to have the Americano after watching the assistant refilling with random catering coffee (and re-using the murky old coffee topped up with water) not Lataza as advertised!

Anyway the lady proceeded to take one coffee pod and place two cups underneath the dispenser.. I thought strange, but trusted they know what they are doing..anyway, got to the car with our coffee and tasted them... hot milk with a distant taste of coffee!! So basically the cafe is eeking stock out, probably advise from up high to save on the budget!! Not good enough, really not! Next time I shall bring a flask!

Forestry Commission Response

We are going to come for the day in April, to meet friends. It looks great! We will probably have checked out of our caravan site and may be pulling a caravan. Could you advise me if there would be parking space for us if we were towing? The caravan is around 6m long including the tow bar. Would we need to pay a higher parking fee if so?

Also, is there a charge to hire the BBQ? Could you let me have information about that too?

Melanie Hindley, 24/Feb/2017

Thank you for your interest in visiting High Lodge and we look forward to welcoming you. Caravans are charged at car rate due to the number of passengers. There is usually plenty of car parking space for a caravan. However if you are visiting over Easter then you may need to use the overflow car park area. There is a charge to hire a bbq. Small (up to 12 people )is £15 or large is £25. A bbq can only be booked on line, up to 3 months in advance, at www.forestry.gov.uk/highlodge-bbq.
