Toilets are available inside the Café and also outside, where there is 24 hour provision. Both have fully accessible facilities.

Access Statement

High Lodge Access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs, but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all our visitors.

The Café serves a variety of home produced and locally sourced food.

Information Point and Site Entry

This is the place for information about the forest and what it has to offer. Leaflets, Maps and Discovery Pass purchase are available from here.

Adventurous Play Area

The play area is set among the trees with challenges for children of most abilities and ages.

1290.1_HL dog awareness poster_AW-page-001.jpgDogs are welcome in the forest including the area immediately around High Lodge Café. However we request that dogs are kept under close control. This is for the safety of other forest users as well as to protect wildlife in the wider forest.

Facilities for the less able

High Lodge is fully wheel chair accessible and has fully accessible toilet facilities both in the centre and in the toilet block. Most of the walking trails around High Lodge are flat but the surfaces may be uneven. However we will be starting construction on site in Autumn 2017 of the new HLF Heritage trail. This will be a new 4.2km all-ability trail with a smooth surface suitable for those with access limitations. Benches and shelters will give ‘rest places’ and meet the needs of those with restricted health and mobility.

BBQ Hire

Barbecues can only be used if hired from High Lodge. We regret barbecues will not be available on concert weekends.
