Autumn Family Activity Trail

Get the whole family into the great outdoors, and exploring the magical world of autumn colour. Discover why the trees change colour at this time of year and have a go at our fun activities!

James and the Giant Peach Adventure Kit

Pick up a your adventure kit, based on Roald Dahl's best selling book James and the Giant Peach, from the Westonbirt Shop and set out on your very own quest through the arboretum to discover your own insect friends, and learn all about their amazing habitats!

The kit contains everything a budding human bean needs for an adventure, including:

  • Natural cotton drawstring bag
  • Activity book and pencil
  • Cardboard folding binoculars
  • A collecting tray and measuring grid

Learning With Nature host birthday parties at Westonbirt. There are a range of different party themes to suit everyone from mini adventures to big adventures for older children. Westonbirt is a Children’s University Learning Destination!

The Children’s University is a charity dedicated to encouraging children 7 to 14 (and 5 to 6 year olds with their families) to try new things, engage in new experiences and learn outside of the school setting. All our seasonal family trails are now validated to earn three hours on a Children’s University passport. To claim your hours please email a photo of your completed family activity leaflet to
