Horse riding & dog walking

Horseridder with her dog on a forest road. Why not take your best friends along to Delamere? You will be in good company as many people head to the trees to enjoy a long walk. There are beautiful places to ride through and so many sticks to fetch!

Why not wind your way uphill to the top of Old Pale and then stop to enjoy the view.

If you are bringing a horse box to Delamere the best place to park is at Whitefield car park, where it is quieter especially on weekdays. There is plenty of room to box/unbox your horse, and from here you are already on the Delamere Loop.

Woman clearing up after her dogNo one likes to see discarded dog waste bags. We are trying to encourage people to use 'stick and flick' in the forest.  If your dog fouls the path in the forest please use a stick to remove the waste from the path into the undergrowth where it can break down naturally. If your dog fouls near the forest centre, carparks or other sensitive areas we ask you pick up the waste and use the dog bins. There are dog bins located at the main trail entrance into the forest, the access near Go-Ape and Whitefield car park.

Groups of Dog Walkers

Due to the forest being a busy area it is important for us to maintain a harmonious balance for all our users. Therefore if you are organising a walk with dogs for more than 10+, please could you pre-warn us so we can best advise you on other events, activities that may be runningon that specific date and time you wish to walk.
