Woodland management for bats

COMMON LONG EARED BATThis good practice guide aims to strike a balance between the needs of bats and the diverse objectives of woodland managers. It gives general principles and practical advice to assist in the management of your particular woodland, whilst recognising potentially conflicting management interests and objectives.

The guide examines the management of woodland in blocks or stands, ranging in size from an avenue of trees to large wooded landscapes. It is designed to help you sustain entire bat populations in woodland habitats, rather than focusing on each individual bat roost.
