Blean Woods Local History Project

Local people have been sharing their memories of the Blean as part of the Blean Woods Local History Project in Kent.  A series of exhibitions has brought together old photographs, maps and tools while local people have contributed stories and information about the area’s past.  Combining these historical records with present day maps and field information, and with older records such as the Canterbury Cathedral archives, is helping to build up a fascinating picture of the Blean’s history.

  • Contributes to RFF outcomes 4 and 11
  • Partners: The project is supported by the Local Heritage Initiative, a partnership between local schools, local businesses, RSPB, The Woodland Trust, Kent County Council, Kent Wildlife Trust, Swale Borough Council, Tilhill Economic Forestry and English Nature.
