Families enjoying a picnic at Postern hill. Savernake forest. Forest of Dean

Postern Hill is a large site set amongst mature oak trees. There is ample parking and a large open grassy area with picnic tables and areas for 'bring your own' BBQ's.

Large round timber stumps have replaced the bbq's, please place your disposable bbq's on these to avoid burning benches, tables or grass.

What do other visitors say?

Are there toilets at the picnic site?

Mary, 25/Aug/2017

Yes there are toilets at Postern Hill which are open over the summer. One of the toilets has disabled access.

Forestry Commission Response

Hi is there a height limit on carpark entrance? I have a small 'high-top' motorhome and want a day out. Thank you

Can I reserve a picnic / BBQ tree stump, or so we just turn up?

Lisa , 16/Jul/2017

Picnic benches and BBQ tree stumps are available on a first come first served basis.
