Morkery is a small, peaceful, ancient woodland which was used as an ammunition and bomb store during the Second World War (RAF South Witham). The network of hard tracks provides good all year round access for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. A small car park is provided, the access road to which has recently been resurfaced.

We love walking here. Plea to all dog walkers if your dog goes to the toilet on the path then get a stick and flick it to the side, it will be sorted by the other animals & insects that form our eco system and not end up on shoes, in cars etc!! Not difficult to do folks! Don't leave it hanging in bags...remember stick & flick 👍

Hi, do you need a parking permit to bring a horse trailer to ride in the woods?
Forestry Commission Response
No, you can bring a horse trailer to the woods, but please park so that you leave space for others. Thank you.
