Cycling and MTB Trails in Gisburn Forest
(Average user rating: 5 unrated 4.8/5)

Fantastic mountain-biking in the heart of the beautiful Forest of Bowland. Whether you've just bought your first bike, or you're happy shredding through rock gardens, Gisburn Forest offers a fantastic opportunity for natural cycling.

Most of our trails start from Gisburn Forest Hub with car park, toilets, picnic & seasonal cafe.

Skills Loop

Our skills loop is located by the stone wall circle at Gisburn Forest Hub.  Learn, practice and perfect those new riding skills before setting off on one of our trails.

Bottoms Beck

 Blue Grade - Moderate 9.5km.

A short trail that is suitable for novices & younger riders. Down passed St James Chapel and over the causeway leads to a bumpy ride along Eggberry Road.  Follow the blue arrows on the timber posts.

"The 8"

Red Grade - Difficult 18 km.

Highlights include the volunteer built trail of Home Baked, gnarly rocks of Whelpstone Crag and the roller coaster ride down Hully Gully Follow the red arrows on the timber posts.

Hope Line & Leap of Faith

Orange Grade - Bike park 0.5km

The Hope Line is a land of berms, jumps & drop-offs. The Leap of Faith is just that, grab your handlebars and go for it!

Love the forest. I've been riding here before the trails were built, I even rode round the big fire road loop on Christmas Day. Some super trails now although there are a couple that need serious repair.

Brilliant this is my local and I try to get round the 8 once a week, loads of single track very uneven so more skill needed optional black sections and only three quid like I said brilliant.

Spectacular. You can take the kids, you can take those with basic trail skills or you can just take yourself and throw common sense to the four winds! There is something for every level of rider. I can't say 'Hully Gully' without some kind of insane, wide eyed look of idiotic madness creeping onto my face. Make the journey, you won't be disappointed.
