(Average user rating: 4 unrated 3.7/5)

Come and discover this historic working woodland. Wapley Hill holds many stories of different uses dating back to the Iron Age.

Today the woodland is managed for productive forestry, but you are welcome to come and walk and enjoy the beech trees and discover the hillfort.

Wapley Hill Trail

Follow the waymarkers through the woodland and up onto the hillfort.

We have lived in Herefordshire for the past 6 years and love taking our visitors to Wapley Wood. Lovely car park and picnic area and the walk is amazing. Visitors are most impressed by the Hill Fort. Have tried to put Wapley wood on The Big Bluebell Watch with The Woodland Trust hopefully more people will go and appreciate this amazing wood.

Just been to Wapley Wood this afternoon. Bluebells amazing. Took visitors last weekend but bluebells not at their best but this weekend was well worth going back again. Everything a bit late this year. Keep up the good work.

Our 3 year old Jack Russell, Bobby, thoroughly enjoyed charging around at high speed enjoying the lots of different smells. Responds well and rarely out of sight unless he hides, which he likes to do, he quickly came

back to my whistle. Unfortunately horse riders seem to have regularly ignored the signs which identify the walking paths are not bridle ways. Whilst Bobby really enjoyed running through the mud it was not so good for my wife and I (2 elderly pensioners). It's a pity horse riders are not more thoughtful as they expect every courtesy when on the roads. Perhaps they could think about other who use Wapley Woods. Thanks for a very enjoyable afternoon walk
