Explore Wapley Hill Wood
(Average user rating: 5 unrated 4.6/5)

Come and discover this historic working woodland. Wapley Hill holds many stories of different uses dating back to the Iron Age.

Today the woodland is managed for productive forestry, but you are welcome to come and walk and enjoy the beech trees and discover the hillfort.

Wapley Hill Trail

Follow the waymarkers through the woodland and up onto the hillfort.

Just got back from our first visit to Wapley Woods, what a lovely place. What I actually want to do is give loads of negatives so that people don't go and we can have the wood all to ourselves, but apart from the hills there aren't any. You do need to keep dogs on a lead through the fort area but that's only sensible, otherwise just normal polite doggy behaviour. Our two spaniels love it definitely number one in our list of best dog walks. P.s. No signes of horses straying on to footpaths on our visit, which is a pet gripe of ours!

We have lived in Herefordshire for the past 6 years and love taking our visitors to Wapley Wood. Lovely car park and picnic area and the walk is amazing. Visitors are most impressed by the Hill Fort. Have tried to put Wapley wood on The Big Bluebell Watch with The Woodland Trust hopefully more people will go and appreciate this amazing wood.

Just been to Wapley Wood this afternoon. Bluebells amazing. Took visitors last weekend but bluebells not at their best but this weekend was well worth going back again. Everything a bit late this year. Keep up the good work.
