Trail description

Family on the Reptile Centre trail. New Forest FD

This circular walk and its self led trail guide in the autumn and winter start and finish at the gate near the Portuguese Fireplace (see OS map).

Use Millyford Bridge for parking

If you are using the trail guide leaflet, you will be starting in the middle of the trail (as described), so use the pond as a landmark to orientate yourself. Start and finish here rather than the Reptile Centre.

The trail may still be followed without a leaflet, simply follow the red markers.  The route is about 1 mile long

The trail has a fairly smooth gravelled surface, although the mid section is a grassy path that can become muddy during wet weather.

Please note that part of this trail is on a cycle track.

A pdf trail map of the trail, which shows the route and  best places to stop and look for wildlife, can be downloaded by clicking here.
