Trail description

Walkers on the Millwood trail GrizedaleThe shorter low level route offers a shaded walk along the stream on the valley bottom, it’s earth surface presents an alternative trail for pushchairs and wheelchairs that are able to cope with short distance inclines.


The Boat Race sculpture at Grizedale


An introduction to the forest, taking you through some of the oldest trees in Grizedale (many over 100 years old) and under the GoApe course.

You will also discover some of Grizedale's famous sculpture collection, including Boat Race, The Ancient Forester and The Sound of Running Water. More information on the sculpture collection is available from Visitor Information on site.

 

 

A longer loop of this trail is a 1.5 mile moderate walk with a short section of climb which offers views of the Grizedale Valley and the Visitor Centre.
