A new era for the Interactive Map!

Please note that from the end of May 2018, our Interactive Map will be temporarily unavailable. This is because the company that host our current map is longer be offering an interactive map hosting service.

A new Interactive Map coming autumn 2018

Our team are working hard to provide a new Interactive Map for our visitors, and we plan to launch a ‘Gardens Explorer’ version of the interactive map for autumn 2018.

This new map will be able to:

  • Be used on tablets and smartphones
  • Search by multiple criteria, such as: scientific or common names of plant, plant family, genus, location in the arboretum, and country of origin
  • Allow visitors with a GPS enabled smartphone such as iPhone or Android to pinpoint their location, making it easier to find your way to a tree in the collection, without the need for a paper map.
  • Display images of particular trees and more information stored in the Tree Team’s database!
  • In the longer term, we plan to further improve the interactive map with additional capabilities, such as additional information on specific trees, trails through the site, and more.

Important information for commemorative trees

Due to new data protection laws, which came in May 2018, commemorative trees will no longer be marked on the Interactive Map.

If you wish to find the location of your commemorative tree please contact the Welcome Building on 0300 067 4890, where a member of our Welcome team will be happy to assist you.

Watch this space for more information and launch dates for our new Interactive Map!
