Removal of Adventure Play Equipment

Recent removals of adventure play equipment – West Walk

We understand that the children’s play areas are clearly an important part of visitors experience when coming to West Walk.

However, last year some play equipment had to be removed as our regular inspections highlighted that the structures had reached the end of their repairable lifespan, and were no longer safe to use.

Working with colleagues and utilising expertise from across the organisation, we have recently started on plans not only to replace the play facilities, but also to develop and improve the site as a whole, and we look forward to providing regular updates and engaging with the local community in the coming months.

Improvements to the site will require significant capital investment and therefore, we’d like to thank all our valued customers and forest users in advance for their support and patience whilst we work with our partners to secure this funding in the interim period. We are confident that the positive changes this work will eventually deliver will be enjoyed by all our visitors for many years to come.

If you have any comments or suggestions, please do not hesitate to get in touch via email.
