Enchanted Christmas FAQ's

Do I need to pre-book tickets?
Yes. Tickets for Enchanted Christmas are advance booking only and not available on the gate. You can book tickets online or via phone to our Box Office on 03000 680 400.
90% of our nights sold out in 2016 so early booking is recommended.

How will my tickets arrive?
Your tickets will arrive in the form of an email with a PDF ticket attachment. You need to print the ticket attachment and bring this with you on the night.

Can I book at the last minute?
If tickets are still available, online sales for that night will close at 3pm on the day of the event. Please note that you will not be able to buy tickets onsite at the arboretum, and all tickets must be bought online.

Do you have a waiting list for tickets if the event is sold out?
Once an event is sold out, we may offer the opportunity to join a waiting list, in the slim chance that any further tickets were to become available. Customers can join the waiting list via the online booking system.  Joining the waiting list is no guarantee that we will be able to offer you tickets. If we are in a position to offer tickets, you will be either telephoned or emailed by the Box Office during office opening hours.  If you are unavailable when we try to make contact, tickets cannot be held (and we will move onto the next person in the list), however your interest will remain registered for any further opportunities.

Can my tickets be changed?
Unfortunately tickets are in high demand so are not interchangeable.

I can’t print my tickets – what should I do?
Having a printed ticket will speed up the admission process so this is strongly recommended. However if you have no way of printing this it can be shown on a phone / device.

Is there a member’s discount?
Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum members receive half price entry on Friday evenings only. Members’ children have £2 entry on Friday evenings only. Tickets must be booked in advance.

Is there a concessions or senior citizens price?
We do not offer a concession price for Enchanted Christmas.

Do children need to pay?
Tickets for children aged 5-18 are £7
Children aged under 5 are free.

What happens if I cannot attend?
Unfortunately due to the high demand for tickets, they are non-refundable and not interchangeable.

Is it wheelchair/pushchair friendly?
The trail is just over a mile long and on hard paths. It is accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs, but can get muddy! The main event area is also wheelchair and pushchair friendly.

Is there a policy for carers?
As with our normal admissions policy, an essential carer has free entry. This will need to be booked via phone.

Can we book a wheelchair/mobility scooter?
We do have free wheelchair/mobility scooters available, but they are in demand and we have a limited stock so early booking via the admissions team on 0300 067 4861 is highly recommended.

Are dogs allowed into the event?
As the event is held in the Old Arboretum, our dog free zone, dogs are not permitted to Enchanted Christmas.

What is the start/end time of the event?
The event starts at 5pm and finishes at 9pm. When you book tickets you will be asked to choose an hour’s timeslot to gain entry to the trail. You will need to start the trail within your chosen hour, but you will be able to visit the Christmas village outside of your time slot, anytime between 5pm - 9pm.

How long does the event last?
The event lasts from 5pm – 9pm, however we believe the average time spent at Enchanted Christmas is approximately two hours. Please note that as the event closes at 9pm, you will need to allow time to visit Father Christmas in the Christmas village if you have booked a later time slot. You are permitted to visit the Christmas village before your trail timeslot.

Can we arrive earlier in the day for the event?
No. Enchanted Christmas is a special event outside of our normal admission times. You are permitted to arrive at Enchanted Christmas from 5pm.
You are welcome to visit Westonbirt Arboretum earlier in the day but standard daytime admission charges apply and the site closes at 3pm, to allow us time to set up for the event.

Last paid entry to the arboretum on days on which Enchanted Christmas is running will be at 2pm, and the Old Arboretum will close at 3pm. This is to allow us time to set up for the event. Members are permitted to enter as usual until the start of the event at 5pm.

How do the time slots work?
When booking your ticket you will be asked to choose an hour’s slot when you will walk the trail. They are:
- 5pm - 6pm
- 6pm - 7pm
- 7pm - 8pm
You will need to start the trail within your chosen hour. Timed entry to the trail applies to everyone attending Enchanted Christmas.
This has been put in place as a result of feedback from our visitors, to ensure a high quality experience at Enchanted Christmas.
If you arrive at the trail entrance before your timed slot, you will be asked to wait.
You are welcome to arrive at the event anytime from 5pm, but will be restricted to the Christmas village until your trail time slot starts.

What happens if it is raining?
Unless the rain presents a safety issue, the event will go ahead as normal. We recommend you bring appropriate clothing and footwear for the outdoors and the weather.
If the rain or any extreme weather conditions present a safety issue, notification of cancellation will be made on, Facebook and Twitter. Please see your ticket terms and conditions for the refund policy.

What should I wear?
Enchanted Christmas is an outdoor event. We recommend comfortable footwear and outerwear dependent on the weather conditions.

How far is the walk?
The trail is around 1 mile long and takes anywhere from 45m to 1hr30 to complete dependent on walking ability. There is a short distance walk from the Welcome Building to the trail entrance.

Will it be busy?
Timed entry to the trail is a new addition to the event for 2017 and we hope this will alleviate queuing around and on the trail. Please do expect some queues getting through admissions, to see Father Christmas and in the busy areas of the event for food and drink.

Do we pay for parking?
No, parking is included within the ticket price.

Will we get to see Father Christmas? Is there a Santa Grotto?
Father Christmas is present at every Enchanted Christmas evening, along with Mrs Christmas. However, he is on a first come, first serve basis and meeting him cannot be guaranteed. If you have booked a later time slot we advise that you come early to the Christmas village and see Father Christmas before you set out on the trail.

Will there be anything else happening at the event?
Aside from the incredible illuminations, there are plenty of things to see and do at Enchanted Christmas. Mrs Christmas will be telling Christmas stories from her Yuletide Yurt and Father Christmas will be there to meet the children and give a free token gift. Food and drink is available along with shopping opportunities in the Westonbirt Shop. Choirs are present on most nights of Enchanted Christmas and festive stilt walkers roam the event to entertain the children.

Will there be a Christmas Market/Stalls?
There are various stalls selling food and drink, along with a children’s carousel, sweet stall and roasted chestnuts. The Westonbirt Shop will be open, selling plenty of festive delights including Christmas cards, decorations, foodie treats and gifts.

Will the restaurant be open?
The restaurant is open during the event selling hot drinks, cake and hot food.
