Self Guided Visits

Ranger in a Bag

These are resource backpacks that provide all you need to run your own successful educational visit in the forest.  Each activity bag contains equipment, games and resources for a class/group of up to 35 children and are suitable for children aged 4 - 11 years old.

Each bag includes enough activities for a half day session.  For more information contact the Learning team

How to prepare for a visit

If you are a school or group visiting one of our woods we have a number of activities, including an introductory slide show, lesson plans and a sample risk assessment, to help you plan your visit. For further information on preparing for a visit please click here .

When you are planning a visit to a FC wood please do get in touch beforehand. Our learning team will be able to help you to plan and prepare for your visit, and keep you up to date with any forestry activities that may be happening at your chosen venue.  You can contact us via e-mail
