Trail description

Allow 1hr walking time

Gisburn - Dale Head Ramble & Egg Berry RoadA gentle climb through mixed woodland and conifer plantation leads to a historic track called Egg Berry road. The name is an old West Riding of York term for Bird Cherry (Prunus padus) – you may be lucky to spot one on your walk. Egg Berry road contours along above Bottoms Beck and provides very fine views over the beck to the ancient woodland of Park Wood. The undulating woodland canopy is wonderful to see both in winter and when in leaf. Further on, enjoy extensive views over Stocks reservoir, before returning to School Lane.
