unrated)2014 marked 100 years since the start of the First World War and throughout the centenary we created a commemorative installation to honour the lives of those who served in and were affected by the war.
Sherwood Pines used to be a training area for soldiers who were stationed at Clipstone Army Camp and is littered with old trenches, a machine gun range and even some bomb holes! Inspired by this, we're building a replica trench system to show visitors how they would have looked to the soldiers who fought in them.
We’re looking for our own army of volunteers to help work with us on this exciting project. The replica trenches have been dug out and next we’ll be creating machine gun nests, fox holes and shallow earth defences.
