Download The Gruffalo Spotter app at home, then visit Salcey Forest. Along the trail look out for clues which lead to footprint marker posts - point the app at these and watch Mouse, Fox, Owl, Snake and the Gruffalo appear before your eyes!
Gruffalo trail dates and information
The trail is open from the 24th February 2017. It is aimed at younger children, but the whole family can enjoy following clues and collecting evidence. Download the app before you visit and point it at the markers to bring the characters to life! You can find the start of the trail near the information point and café and it is about 1.1 miles in length.
Set out on your Gruffalo Spotting adventure with the Gruffalo Activity Kit! The kit contains an evidence collection bag, 5 fact and activity cards, stickers of the Gruffalo characters, a special magnifying glass, ruler and a pencil! The trail and the app are free of charge, but we ask that visitors pay to park in the forest. You'll find space in the main car park: £1.50 for one hour or £4 all day. Pay and display machines accept coins only, no change given. Pay-by-phone available through PaySmarti, call or text the phone number on the posters on the day or pre-register online www.paysmarti.co.uk. £10 coach parking. If you would like to visit more often why nto purchase a Discovery Pass for £28. Please note parking is limited on weekends. Car park 8am – 5pm (Nov – Mar) and 8am – 7pm (Apr – Oct).
The trail is open from 24th February - 30th October 2017. No booking is required* but please note that car parking is limited and weekends are regularly very busy. The best time to spot the Gruffalo is during the week!
