Find out about me, my owner and my favourite place for a walk in Salcey Forest, as well as great dog friendly places to eat and sleep near by.

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. My owner and me

I don’t have any distinguishing marks that make me stand out – I am lively enough without them. As an eight-year-old Springer Spaniel, I am meant to have calmed down a bit now, but my minder, recreation ranger Jo says not!

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. Favourite treat

It has to be sausages. I'm not fussy on what kind, any will do!

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. Best trick

Putting my paws up for treats. Some people (including Jo) might call it begging, but I prefer to see it as one of life's essential skills.

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. Arch rival

Mr Fluffy the cat. He comes in to my garden like he owns the place.

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. Favourite places for a walk

I like to walk with Jo along the The Woodpecker Trail. There's lots of dips and hollows and open areas underneath beech trees, where I love to run about off my lead. Jo loves it too, because there are fantastic bluebells spots and sculptures dotted around.

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. Water stops

There's a handy water bowl placed outside the cafe in the paved seating area for us dogs to use. The cafe also sells yummy dog treats, which Jo sometimes gets for me when I've been an extra good boy. If it was up to me I'd be given them all the time!

Making a bug home at an Eco-Kids event. Other useful information

There are lots of great walks and opportunities for exploring, sniffing and running around off-lead in the forest. You won't find any dog waste bins though, we either use the stick and flick method, or Jo bags it up and takes it home. Visit Salcey Forest for more information about what's available on site.
