Hi I'm new to metal detecting do I need permission to use my metal detector in chalkney woods

I am sorry to say that the use of the forests is governed by the Forestry Commission Byelaws and under these the use of metal detectors is specifically not permitted.

First time visitor, woods fantastic, however very poor trail signs. No map except at gate
