Grade of Trail:
Length of trail:22.8km/14.2 miles MTB only – one way(Distance includes Follow the Dog) 80% Singletrack miles
The Monkey Trail start is reached via the Follow the Dog Trail. More physically and technically demanding than Follow the Dog, this singletrack mountain bike trail contains technical trail features and several black options (all black options and technical trail features rejoin the main trail). The Monkey Trail was built and designed in partnership with Chase Trails and features technical rock gardens, boardwalks, jumps and drops. The trail finishes with the awesome ‘Lower Cliff’ descent.
The Monkey Trail start is reached by riding the first half of Follow the Dog.

Are you ready for this? Mountain biking is inherently risky, so the best way to stay safe is by being realistic about your own ability and aware of what's going on around you. Read our short safety guide.
Be courteous and show respect to others. Give way to other users at junctions and on shared sections. Let slower riders know you are behind them without intimidating them. Pull over to let faster riders pass. Keep noise to a minimum and moderate your language around residential areas.
Volunteer mountain bike trail builders Chase Trails were founded by local riders in 2003 with the aim of building and maintaining high quality, sustainable mountain bike trails on Cannock Chase. Working in partnership with the Forestry Commission they have built 15 miles of trails which they are continually working to maintain and improve. Read the Story of Chase Trail on their blog

Went to the trail on Saturday 21st August in a team of 4. All I can say is that this is a really good place to test skills... Safety is a Must! We did Follow the dog and then the monkey trial. Was warned by another rider that the monkey trial takes a lot out of you!!! that was the most fun we had Lung Buster ;) was a good workout!
can't wait to do again only issue is that I live too far. lots of good people around to help if you have any issues.. one of our bikes chain snapped.... still carried on once we fixed it. A big shout out to the chap who helped us:) Highly recommend this place.

Went there for the first time on Sunday monkey trail was better than follow the dog,had a great day the high light was the down hill at the end of the monkey trail.
Is there a free ride area at Cannock? Table tops, doubles, drop off etc? Looking for a flowing challenging ride with plenty of jumps etc.
