Trail description

At 6 miles long the Blue graded Adventure Cycle Route is ideal for the intermediate rider, whilst it is not as difficult as the Red graded Kitchener trail, there are features on the trail that are typical of road cycling or mountain biking. Expect to see natural terrain, uneven surfaces and fast flowing corners with berms.

To enjoy the blue trail and unlike the Green graded family trail, a well maintained bike and a protective gear such as a helmet is essential, young families should consider the Green family trail prior to attempting the blue trail.

Really well signposted trail - mixture of terrain made it interesting. Autumn colours made the forest look lovely at this time of year. Some hills but uphills not too long or steep - needed good brakes for downhill sections. Despite the car park being busy, once you get out on the trails you soon lose everyone so it isn't like a motorway. Had a great afternoon out!!

A great ride for kids from age 9 . We had a great time. And as the review above says, do make sure your bike is well serviced, this a ride that takes you a long way from the bike shop, so you need sturdy tyres and good gears for the hills. Breaks need to be in full working order for the down hills and kids need a bit of coaching on maintaining controlled descent. My two nine year old companions found it challenging enough to give a great sense of achievement and I found it a great workout.
