Orienteering at Grizedale

Grizedale Orienteering Map

Why not try your hand at orienteering, a map reading challenge for all levels.

Our waterproof map costs £2 and is specially drawn for orienteering using the standard symbols.  There are 3 suggested courses:-

Yellow : 2 km for beginners and mostly on tracks and paths

Orange : 3km and suited to intermediate level where most of the controls are close to paths.

Green : 4.2km a longer route over tough terrain for more experienced participants.

You will not need a compass for the first two courses but one would be useful on the green one so bring yours along if you would like to practise your compass skills. We will supply a pencil for you to fill in the answers onto the back of your map.
