Volunteering in Dalby

Enjoy the forest, learn new skills and meet new people…

See the forest through an artists eyes.

Wahaha Biota, Video Still, Helen Sear

We have an exciting opportunity to support the culmination of a year’s art project. Dalby will play host to an art exhibition by the renowned artist Helen Sear. Helen has been working at Dalby to create some forest inspired artworks which will be displayed at the Dalby courtyard through May 2018.

We are looking for volunteers to help facilitate the exhibition at Dalby. Providing information about the art works and other general information about the forest, you will help our visitors see the forest through an artist’s eyes.

No prior experience is required as full training is provided. For further information or to apply please email:

Share your passion for Dalby!

Dalby Visitor Centre, touchscreen, information, staff, visitor

We have new volunteer opportunities here at Dalby and are looking for capable people to join us.

Our enthusiastic volunteers will help visitors get the most out of Dalby and present a knowledgeable and enthusiastic welcome to the public. You could be giving general information about the facilities, advising on the best cycle trail or explaining where to spot our Gruffalo!

Dalby is a special place to many people and we always want to provide a top quality experience for our hundreds of thousands of visitors. Your knowledge of Dalby, combined with warm enthusiasm, will be the icing on the cake to make a good day a great one.

Volunteering with us is a great way to get outside, meet people, learn something new and develop new skills – all in the beautiful setting of Dalby Forest!

Partnership Visitor Centre Volunteering!

Moors Centre, DanbyWe have a new partnership volunteering opportunity working for both the Forestry Commission and the North York Moors National Park Authority in their Visitor Centres.

You can, of course, still sign up to volunteer in the Dalby Forest visitor centre or National Park visitor centres (based at Sutton Bank and the Moors Centre, Danby) separately, but now you can sign up to work in centres of both organisations in one fell swoop!

Add a bit of variety to your role, and benefit by being able to talk to visitors about both organisations and locations. If you are interested, please e-mail Keith McSweeney on – thanks.
