Woodland Creation measure for the 07 - 08 planting season

 

The closing date for applications for this grant has now passed and Forestry Commission Scotland Conservancies are processing applications to draft contract stage.  Contracts will be issued once the Rural Development Contracts Statutory Instrument comes into force early in 2008.

• Successful applicants must follow the guidance given in this Explanatory Note (PDF 328k).

The crucial dates for formal applications and claims are as follows:

• 21 December 2007: Completion of statutory consultation period
• January 2008: Contracts issued (date dependent on SRDP approval and enactment of enabling legislation)
• 31 May 2008: All planting and fencing works to be completed
• 1 August 2008: All claims to be submitted.

Giving an agent authority to act on your behalf

If you want to authorise your agent to sign applications, contracts, claims and amendments relating to Rural Development contracts for Woodland Creation, you must do so using the format provided in the authorised signatory letter (PDF 9k). Your current agent’s authority will not be suitable as it will not refer to these new contracts. 

The Integrated Administration and Control System (IACS)

Please note that you must successfully register your land under IACS, after which you will be given a unique Business Reference Number, to enable you to claim grants, as this support is given under the Scottish Rural Development Programme.
