Explore Wendover Woods
(Average user rating: unrated unrated)

Come and explore Wendover Woods. If you're feeling energetic, try Go-Ape! Tree Top Adventure, orienteering, or our fitness trail assault course. There are also plenty of spots to admire the view or enjoy a picnic.

Bluebells in the woods....

Wendover Woods is home to some of the best displays of woodland bluebells in the Chiltern Hills, and they are now in full bloom! You can easily view this spectacular event by driving up the Forest Drive into the main car park of Wendover Woods. From there, follow signs for the Hilltop Easy-Access Trail, which is located behind the Café and to the left of the Toilet blocks. You will see plenty of bluebells along the length of the trail, which takes less that 20 minutes to walk.

Feeling a bit adventurous? From the small car park where the Easy Access Trail starts, head to the cairn indicating the highest point in the Chilterns, just off the Easy-Access trail and after you pass a barbeque on your right. Once at the stone monument, bear left onto an informal track which runs parallel to a fencelince and field. Follow this track for 100 yards to see even more unspoilt scenic bluebell woodland. Bear left on the informal tracks and look for signs directing you back towards the main car park, or turn left and walk up the Forest Drive once you happen upon it.
