BRANCH OF HORSE CHESTNUT TREEDeadman's Hill lay by is an infamous spot, much frequented by truck drivers. The mobile cafe serves hungry truckers and woodland visitors most weekdays. The lay by is potholed and muddy, but gives quick and easy access to one of Bedfordshire's countryside jewels, Maulden Wood. Waymarked trails and hard rides radiate out from the gateway in the lay by.

How to get there:
The lay by is accessed from the north bound carriageway on the A6, 1 mile from Clophill

Much of the woodland is SSSI because of its rich ecology associated with the ancient woodland and acidic grassland heaths (managed in association with the Greensands Trust).
